A rough reading aid, not exact pronunciation. Hyphens separate syllables. Listen first, then try with hints hidden. “eu” is said with unrounded lips; “uh” only approximates ㅓ. Doubled consonants are tense, not extra syllables. Do not add a vowel after a final consonant.

개 is a general counter for things. 하나 changes to 한 before this counter.

둘 changes to 두 before 개.

ocheon wonieyo
It’s 5,000 won.
오 means five in Sino-Korean numbers; 오천 is five thousand.

How much is this?
이거 means “this.” Point to the item when asking.
봉투 주세요

bongtu juseyo
A bag, please.
봉투 means a bag or envelope. In this setting it refers to a shopping bag; a charge may apply.
영수증 주세요
Sound hintyuhng-soo-jeung joo-seh-yoh

A receipt, please.
