Do I need to know the Korean alphabet?
No. Start with Meet Hangul to see how letters form syllable blocks, or try a travel lesson with English meanings and pronunciation guides. The nine-lesson Hangul path builds from letter shapes to simple words. It introduces common patterns rather than every pronunciation rule.
Are these lessons free?
Yes. All thirty lessons and practice activities here are free. No subscription is needed. Learning without sign-in is welcome; optional sign-in syncs your progress across devices.
Can I learn on my phone?
Yes. Open a lesson in your phone’s browser. Listening needs a Korean speech voice on your device; microphone practice needs browser permission. Your progress is saved for this browser. Optional sign-in lets you continue on another device.
Will the pronunciation guide sound exactly right?
English letters are only an approximate guide to Korean sounds. Listen to the Korean voice and gradually focus on Hangul. These lessons offer self-practice, not automatic pronunciation scores.
